Madeleine Beaubien Taylor, Ph.D.Madeleine Beaubien Taylor, Ph.D., has conducted policy and evaluation research for the public and non-profit sectors since 1987. She has consulted to governments, universities, and foundations as well as to community-based non-profits, on issues that include culture and the environment, community economic development and non-profit network-building. Her most recent work includes an assessment of cultural factors affecting the use of parks and other public open spaces in Boston and an evaluation of a participatory research project to improve health outcomes among public housing residents funded by the Centers for Disease Control in Atlanta. Dr. Taylor received her Ph.D. in Anthropology from Brandeis University.
She has taught numerous courses in qualitative research design and methods,
receiving Harvard University’s Certificate of Distinction in Teaching
in 1991 for her work with undergraduates. Fluent in English, French and
Portuguese, Dr. Taylor has consulted to the Government of the United States
(FDIC) and to the Governments of Brazil, Mozambique and Canada. Her work
with foundations has resulted in several recent publications, including

Strategies for the New Boston (with Ashley Graves Lanfer, Barr Foundation.
